In Our Path

For a sweet story of God's guidance and our opportunity to be a light in the darkness, check out Tim's blog! Read all about the blessings we've been experiencing once we allowed God to guide our encounters with our neighbors. A little crazy, but as Ed Noble talked about "a little unsafe".

Unsafe= I'm following close, Lord. I want to go where You go. No "safe distances" away.

GABY: grand avenue baptist youth

At the beginning of August, Tim took a position as part-time Youth Pastor at Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Being a part of this church has been a blessing to both of us. As Tim's helpmate, I have the privilege of getting to know the high schoolers and middle schoolers, especially the girls. The following pictures show a little bit of what our time at Grand has looked like so far.

Tim organized GABY Parents VS. Kids softball game:

At the Homecoming Game:

The girls and I went on a retreat to Omaha. We spent some time hitting the malls, made our own jacuzzi in our hotel room bathtub, learned more of what it means to be a woman of God, and had some sweet time in the Word.

For the recap on the boys' retreat, check out Tim's blog:

How to Make Your Own Laundry Detergent

I know this sounds like a lame post and it probably will get me made fun of, but this is a cool way to save money and develop some homemaking skills. I am not able to actually make my own detergent yet as a I don't have a place to store it. Someday...

Mexico, here we come!

As a wonderful wedding gift, Tim's parents (Bud and Bonnie) have given us 2 airline tickets to be used for our honeymoon that we have yet to take! Because we got married in May, the most beautiful month in Iowa, Tim and I decided to wait until the weather turned cold to take a trip south.
I have been to India and NYC, so I have seen the ocean, but I have never stuck my toes in the sand on a beach. So (decided yesterday), November 20-30 we are going to Acapulco! Sweet, huh? We will be spending 10 nights in the beautiful place. How exciting!
Check out the blessing we have in the place we get to stay at:

This trip is definitely something we do not deserve, but God, gracious as He is, lavishes His children. I can't tell you the number of times He has blessed our relationship in KINGLY ways.

My Start as a Blogger...

So this is a first. I am attempting to be faithful to this blog for the purpose proclaiming my God's work in my life. Apagello in Greek means "to proclaim". I love that. My lips shall proclaim Your name, my King.

I mess up. A lot. You'll see that in this blog. Often. But it is an awe-filled experience to see the LORD step in and bless me abundantly despite my selfish nature. That's the God I serve. So, if you decide to follow along my life path, you'll come across the "yes!" times and the "crap, Sam, you fell off the path into the puddle" times. The great thing about my walk with God is that despite my attempts to forge the way, He is patient. He is still working in me and through me. That's the God I serve.

Hop on. Join me. Let's see where God's path leads.
